An abstraction of Christmas lights

And now for something completely different... This is my entry for the Thursday Challenge: Lights. When I saw this challenge, I knew that I wanted to do an abstract, specifically of Christmas lights. I had intended to go out in my neighborhood and try to do something with the outdoor decorations; however, a really bad cold convinced me to stay in. So I dug around in my Christmas stuff and found a box of a hundred small, clear, blinking lights on a string, wrapped around a plastic frame in 4 columns. Instead of unstringing them, I just kept them on the frame and plugged them in. I took several shots that I really liked with my Tamron 28-75mm lens out of focus and my Lensbaby, also completely out of focus. I decided to go with one of the Lensbaby shots as I thought that they were more unique. In this shot, only one of the light columns was actually lit, although the column to the right had just blinked off (there's a hint of those lights in the picture). I might over time post some more of these light abstract shots.

Tomorrow, I'll go back to my final few shots of Jayden that I wanted to post as I lead up to Christmas.
