Through a hole, joy

This shot wasn't as sharp as I wanted--I only had an instant to take it as Jayden was moving through the plastic tube. That said, I decided to keep it as I really liked the overall composition, especially with the framing that the hole in the tube provided. I added a little more softness to the image to play up the original lack of sharpness. Ideally, I probably would have liked to have the top of the hole in the shot as well, but it's hard to pose a 2-year-old when she's playing.

Something that someone said in a comment to yesterday's post made me realize what I hope that these images of my niece have portrayed: joy. I think that the joy of a child is a wonder to behold. Posted on 24 December, 2005 (3)
