The father and a child

This past Saturday was World Through the Viewfinder Day. I had recently been introduced to this type of photography by my friend Darin. Through the Viewfinder or TtV is taking a picture of any subject through the viewfinder of one camera with another camera. I recently bought on eBay a Kodak Duaflex so I could try TtV -- it cost more to ship the camera than it did to buy it. :-) You usually need to build a 'contraption' connecting your photo-taking camera to your viewfinder camera (the Duaflex in my case) to block light from leaking into the shot. I built mine out of cereal boxes. See mine here.

So anyway, with Saturday being World TtV Day, I rushed to finish my contraption Friday night and Saturday morning, and later that afternoon Darin and I headed out. It was interesting, this inaugural TtV attempt of mine. I made some mistakes, learned some things, and came away with a few images that I liked. This was taken in Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA, a favorite haunt of mine when looking for something to photograph.

I am honored to be the photoblog of the week over at digital Photography School. Besides being featured, they asked me to write a tip. Check it out.
