I have mentioned the snorkeling trip that we took while on Caye Caulker before. It was nice going out on a sailboat to the barrier reef where we snorkeled in three different areas. Extending for more than 180 miles (290 km), the Belize Barrier Reef is the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world. During snorkeling, we swam with eagle spotted rays, manta rays, nurse sharks, great barracudas, moray eels, and countless fish that I don't know the names of.

News: I am showing photos the month of February at Aurora Coffee in Virginia Highlands in Atlanta. The show is called 'Belize through a plastic lens'. Here's a view of the card: front, back.

Song of the day: "Never Meant" by American Football

Poem of the day:
"A WET sheet and a flowing sea,
A wind that follows fast
And fills the white and rustling sail
And bends the gallant mast;
And bends the gallant mast, my boys,
While like the eagle free
Away the good ship flies, and leaves
Old England on the lee.

'O for a soft and gentle wind!'
I heard a fair one cry:
But give to me the snoring breeze
And white waves heaving high;
And white waves heaving high, my lads,
The good ship tight and free—
The world of waters is our home,
And merry men are we.

There's tempest in yon hornèd moon,
And lightning in yon cloud:
But hark the music, mariners!
The wind is piping loud;
The wind is piping loud, my boys,
The lightning flashes free—
While the hollow oak our palace is,
Our heritage the sea."
